INTRODUCTION

Auckland Regional Migrant Services (ARMS) offers volunteer positions which encourage learning and development of new skills, including building of confidence and self-esteem in the NZ work place.

Volunteers helping out with workshop registration during Migrant ExpoThe benefits of this scheme include:

  • Attendance at the ARMS job search seminars and job clubs.
  • One-to-one CV preparation meeting with Career Services.
  • Training from a dedicated staff member in a project orientated field.
  • Access to in-house staff training programmes.
  • Attendance at the Career Services Interview Skills training programme.
  • Support toward achieving paid employment or moving into higher learning outside of ARMS.
  • New Zealand work experience in a diverse organisation.
  • Opportunity to network with other newcomers and organisations.
  • ARMS will financially support you for lunch and travel.

The various project areas within our ARMS Centres (Three Kings / North Shore / Manukau City) include:

  • Information Systems
  • Settlement Support Services
  • Human Resources
  • Regional Projects for Newcomers
  • Migrant Employment Assistance
  • Communications and Public Relations
  • Customer Services
  • Refugee Services
  • Events

The following criteria is required for anyone applying for Volunteer positions:

  • Permanent Residence - OR
  • Work to Residence - AND
  • Been in New Zealand for less than 2 years
