PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT--INTRODUCTION
ARMS staff provide accurate and up-to-date information and referral onwards to appropriate organisations or agencies to assist migrants to access employment in New Zealand through our "PATHWAYS TO EMPLOYMENT" services. These services include: workshops on how to find employment in NZ (First Steps), specialised workshops for professional migrants, appointments with other agencies on-site i.e. appointments with a Work Broker from Work and Income (Tuesdays), appointments with Career Services, Job Board for 'entry-level' employment and advice on employment-related English courses.
"FIRST STEPS TO EMPLOYMENT" WORKSHOP
This workshop provides the "first steps' to finding employment in NZ. It provides information and introductions to agencies who can assist. This day-long workshop has expert presenters covering:
Practical information on job searching and finding employment in Auckland/New Zealand
NZ employment culture and labour market
An overview on preparing NZ styled CVs and improving your interview skills
Looking for a first job through our updated "Job board"
Making appointments with some of the presenters who can assist you further during one on one appointments

This workshop is run at the Regional Centre (Three Kings) weekly and at the Manukau Office fortnightly. See workshop schedules for details.
WORK BROKER (WORK & INCOME NZ)
A WINZ Work broker is available on Tuesdays at ARMS Three Kings centre for consultation and support in finding an 'entry-level' job. He specializes in assisting migrants. Meetings are by appointment and are scheduled during the employment workshop. A "job board" in the Three Kings ARMS centre displays many current vacancies.
